It was the center of one of the most extensive and influential monastic lordships of the Crown of Catalonia-Aragon. It has a solid and austere architecture, typical of the Cistercian monasteries. Visiting Santes Creus reminds us when living far away was synonymous with purity. It has two Gothic mausoleums where different kings of the Crown of Catalonia-Aragon were buried.
