Penedes Wine Region

The diversity of microclimates of the Penedès allows the cultivation of each variety of raïm in the area that is most widely available. The height, the rainfall, the proximity to the Mediterrani or the river Foix, the exposure to the sun… they contribute singularities.
El Penedés is at an altitude ranging from 170 meters to 800 meters, some areas are just 10 km from the sea.
At higher vineyards, the raïms ripen more slowly and it is verme between 4 and 6 weeks later than at the Penedès valley.

In the highlands, we cultivate indigenous varietats such as Garnatxa, Xarel lo, Macabeu, Parellada, Sumoll, Carinyena Blanca or Malvasia, in the high zones, international varietats such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, Mencía, Merlot … ia les zone més baixes varietats com: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Ull de Llebre or Muscat.

The different ones only have great importance. Millors tend to be poor in organic matter.

IN 5 HOURS YOU WILL SEE:

  • We will drive the Motorway towards Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, to the chosen winery, where we will visit and taste. Then we will visit another winery where we will visit the vineyards and see the vinification process.

For all visits we recommend comfortable shoes.
