Tossa is an ancient fishing village that has the remains of Roman period houses and was a Refuge during World War II for artists such as Chagall and a film stage where artists such as Ava Gardner participated. It is well known as a tourist destination on the Costa Brava.
Peratallada is a village carved in stone 45 minutes from Girona or 25 minutes from seafaring villages such as Calella de Palafrugell. It is one that has best maintained its authenticity.
In addition to the Castle-Palace (10th and 11th centuries), the moat on one side of the village and its walls from the Middle Ages stand out. It’s small, but you won’t stop taking pictures.
Pals is another captivating village on the Costa Brava. The name comes from “Palus = swampy land” and hence its famous rice. The walk is lovely. Alleys up to the famous tower, the only remnant of an old castle.
